Chris Atkinson Recruitment Limited (company number  09677902) (“the Company” , “we”, “us” or “our” ) is committed to protecting the privacy of our candidates, clients and users of our website. We will ensure that the information you submit to us, or which we collect, via various channels including our website, through written correspondence including email, via conversations or meetings with our consultants, is only used in accordance with the terms outlined in our contracts and our Privacy Policy.

Through this policy, we aim to inform you about the types of personal data we collect from you, the purposes for which we use the data and the ways in which the data is handled.

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, the Company acts as a data controller.

The Information we collect  

We will collect your personal details including but not limited to your name and contact details and your email address and other relevant information from your Curriculum Vitae (“CV”).

You may give your personal details to us directly such as a direct application or an application that you have made through a third party job board.

We will likely obtain further personal information about you during the course of our relationship with you.  This information may be obtained from you directly or from third parties, such as organisations to whom we have provided your CV and who have engaged with you as part of a job application.

Your details may have been identified via publicly available sources in relation to your professional history (e.g Linked In).

In any case, the Company must have a legal basis for processing your personal data. We will only use your personal data in accordance with the terms of a contract and our privacy policy.

The Legal basis for processing your personal information

The Company will collect your personal data and process your personal data for the purposes of providing you with services.

Under GDPR, the legal bases that we rely upon in order to process personal information of candidates and clients are the following:

  1. Necessary for entering into or performing a contract – in order to perform obligations that we undertake in providing a service to you, or in order to take steps at your request to enter into a contract with us, it will be necessary for us to process your personal data
  2. Necessary for compliance with a legal obligation – we may be obliged by law to disclose your personal data to a regulatory body or law enforcement agency
  3. Necessary for the purposes of legitimate interests – our legitimate interests include responding to requests and enquiries from you;  marketing services to inform you about our products and services
  4. Consent – in some circumstances we may ask for your consent to process your data in a particular way:  we may have explicitly obtained your consent to share your data with other potential clients such as to provide a testimonial or reference about our service provision

How we share your Personal Information

In certain circumstances, we will share your personal information with other parties. We have contracts and data sharing agreements in place with the recipients that require them to treat your information as confidential and ensure the continued protection of your data whilst in their possession.

The Company will process your personal information with the following recipients:

  • Clients – we disclose your personal information to clients who have vacancies for jobs in which you are interested
  • Candidates – that are introduced to and supplied to your company
  • Regulatory and Law Enforcement Agencies – as required by law
  • Our software providers
  • Third party suppliers who perform functions on our behalf and provide services  such as employment reference checking, qualification checking,  criminal reference checking, psychometric evaluations or skills tests; professional advisors; data analytical providers; IT consultants
  • Third party, where necessary to protect your vital interest  e.g emergency services
  • Marketing technology platforms and suppliers
  • New business ownersif we or our business merges with or is acquired by another business or company, we will share your personal information with the new owners of the business or company and their advisors. However, we will take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

How long we will hold your information

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary. Different laws require us to keep different data for different periods of time.

The length of time we hold or store your personal information will depend on the services we perform and for how long you require these. As we often support candidates with placements over many years, and potentially throughout their careers, the purpose for which we retain candidate data is often an ongoing purpose.  We carry out regular data-cleansing and updating exercises with our candidates to ensure that the data we hold is accurate and we are not holding data for too long.

Where services have not been provided:If we have not provided you / your company with our services, or had valuable contact with you (or, where appropriate, the company you are working for or with) for two consecutive years, your personal data will be deleted from our systems unless: save where we believe in good faith that the law or other regulation requires us to preserve it.

Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information:

We are committed to taking all reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the personal information that we hold from misuse, loss or unauthorised access.  We do this by having in place a range of appropriate measures such as:

a) encryption of our services and data;

b) review of our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures;

 c) internal policies setting out our data security approach and training for employees, these include measures to deal with any suspected data breach

The Company would like to send you information about our products and services that we think you might like. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.

  • The right of erasure – you have the right to request that the Company erase your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right to restrict processing – you have the right to request that the Company restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right to object to or restrict processing – you have the right to object to the Company’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right of data portability – you have the right to request that the Company transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain circumstances
